Sous Chef
As a prestigious hotel in the heart of Nizwa, we are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in international cuisine, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of food preparation and presentation. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations including menu planning, inventory management, and staff training
- Ensure that all food items are prepared according to standard recipes and presentation guidelines
- Monitor quality control and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen
- Collaborate with other chefs to develop new dishes and menus that reflect local flavors and seasonal ingredients
- Train, supervise, and motivate junior kitchen staff to maintain efficiency and consistency
- Maintain accurate records of food costs, inventory levels, and staff schedules
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie in a high-end restaurant or hotel
- Thorough knowledge of various international cuisines including Mediterranean, Asian, or European
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead and mentor a diverse team
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Culinary Arts or related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fine dining establishments
- Fluent in English (Arabic proficiency is an advantage)
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Salary: $1700 per month
