The Salalah Public Library is seeking a passionate and dedicated Librarian to join our team. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing our extensive collection of books, magazines, and other materials. You will also be responsible for assisting patrons in finding and accessing information, as well as planning and conducting library programs and events.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the organization and maintenance of the library's collection
- Assist patrons in locating materials and providing information
- Develop and implement library programs and events for all ages
- Conduct reference interviews to determine patron needs
- Provide instruction on how to use library resources effectively
- Maintain accurate records of library inventory, circulation, and patron interactions
- Stay up-to-date with current trends in literature, technology, and information services
- Collaborate with other librarians to develop new services and improve existing ones

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Previous experience working in a library setting preferred
- Knowledge of cataloging systems and library classification schemes
- Strong customer service skills with a passion for helping others
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team
- Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite

Salary:
The salary for this position is $1700 per month.

Location:
This position is located in Salalah, Oman.

Visa Sponsorship:
We are currently unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Candidates must have their own valid visa to work in Oman.

Nationality Preference:
While we welcome applicants from all nationalities, preference will be given to candidates who are already residing in Oman.

Working Hours:
This is a full-time position with working hours from 8am to 4pm Sunday through Thursday. Some evening or weekend hours may be required for special events or programs.
