Executive Chef


We are seeking a skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team in Nairobi. As the head of our kitchen, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation, menu creation, and kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts and experience managing a team of kitchen staff.

Responsibilities:
- Develop new menu items and maintain high quality standards for all dishes
- Manage inventory and purchasing to ensure availability of ingredients at all times
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, including cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers
- Monitor food production to ensure consistency and efficiency
- Implement proper sanitation practices to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Collaborate with restaurant management on special events or promotions
- Maintain cost control measures to meet budgetary goals

Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high volume establishment
- In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques, flavor combinations, and food presentation
- Experience managing a team of kitchen staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations
- Strong understanding of inventory control and purchasing procedures
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Ability to create menus that appeal to a diverse customer base while meeting budgetary goals
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with restaurant management and staff

Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts preferred
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role
- Previous experience working in Nairobi or East Africa preferred

Salary: $1300 per month plus benefits
