Executive Chef
We are in need of an experienced Executive Chef to lead our team in Nairobi. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the kitchen, including menu creation, food preparation and presentation, inventory management, and staff training and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop creative and innovative menus that cater to a diverse clientele
- Oversee food preparation and ensure high quality standards are consistently met
- Monitor inventory levels and manage orders to maintain smooth operations
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, sanitation practices, and safety protocols
- Collaborate with management to create budget plans and control costs
- Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure cleanliness of the kitchen at all times
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role
- Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred
- In-depth knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and direct a team
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with staff, management, and suppliers
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Experience in menu development and cost control
