Blast Furnace Operator (Contract)


We are currently seeking an experienced Blast Furnace Operator to join our team in Nairobi. As a Blast Furnace Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining blast furnaces that produce iron, steel, or other metals. This is a contract position with a salary of 1100$, and accommodation will be provided.

Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor blast furnace equipment to maintain proper temperatures, pressures, and flow rates
- Monitor and adjust furnace controls to ensure quality of metal produced
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with equipment or processes
- Conduct regular inspections of furnace equipment for maintenance or repairs
- Maintain records of production, maintenance activities, and quality control measures
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while operating the furnace

Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Blast Furnace Worker or similar role
- Extensive knowledge of blast furnace equipment operation and maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents related to furnace operations
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to monitor multiple processes simultaneously
- Biometric passport is preferred but not required

This is a physically demanding job that requires standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy objects, and working in hot environments. The ideal candidate will be able to work well under pressure, have good communication skills, and work effectively in a team environment.
