Library Assistant


We are in need of a dedicated Library Assistant to join our team in Khasab, Oman. This is a contract position with a salary of 1200$. As a Library Assistant, you will assist the Librarian in maintaining the library's collection and providing excellent customer service to our patrons.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with cataloguing and shelving books, periodicals, and other materials in an organized manner
- Monitor and maintain the library's circulation system, including checking books in and out, issuing library cards, and collecting fines
- Help patrons locate materials and provide guidance on how to use library resources effectively
- Assist with processing new materials and keeping track of inventory levels
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, resolving issues, and referring patrons to appropriate resources when needed
- Keep the library clean and organized by tidying shelves, tables, and workspaces regularly
- Assist with planning and implementing library programs for students and other community members

Requirements:
- Passion for books and libraries with a strong attention to detail
- High school diploma or equivalent; experience working in a library is preferred but not required
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse groups of people in a professional manner
- Basic computer skills; experience using library software is a plus
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends if needed
