Typesetter
As a Typesetter, you will be responsible for setting and arranging text and images for various print and digital materials, ensuring that they are visually appealing and easy to read. You will work closely with writers, editors, and graphic designers to produce high-quality publications such as books, magazines, brochures, newsletters, and websites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Typeset and format text according to the style guide provided by the client or company
- Select appropriate fonts, sizes, and layouts for each project
- Insert images and graphics into the layout as needed
- Ensure consistency in design elements throughout the publication
- Proofread final layouts for errors or inconsistencies
- Collaborate with writers, editors, and designers to ensure that content is accurate and visually appealing
- Meet tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Typesetter or similar role
- Excellent knowledge of typographic principles and design software such as Adobe InDesign or QuarkXPress
- Strong attention to detail with an eye for design aesthetics
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Good communication skills and ability to take direction from others
- Knowledge of printing processes is an asset but not required
Education:
A degree in graphic design or a related field is preferred but not required. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
Salary:
The salary for this position is 1400$ per month with accommodation provided in Vianden. However, candidates who already have their own visa are preferred.
Location:
This position is located in Vianden, a beautiful city known for its medieval castle located in northern Luxembourg.
