Librarian Assistant


We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Librarian Assistant to join our team in Ar Rumaythiyah. As a Librarian Assistant, you will assist the librarian in managing and organizing library resources, providing reference services to patrons, and overseeing library operations.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with organizing and maintaining library resources, including books, periodicals, and digital media
- Provide reference services to patrons, including answering questions and assisting with research needs
- Manage circulation processes, including checking out and returning materials
- Oversee library operations during designated shifts, ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment for patrons
- Assist in developing and implementing library programs and events to promote literacy and engagement within the community
- Catalog new materials using standard classification systems
- Maintain accurate records of library resources, patron accounts, and circulation statistics
- Train new staff members on library procedures and policies
- Collaborate with other librarians to develop collection development plans based on community needs

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred (Associate's degree accepted)
- 1+ years of experience working in a library setting preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong communication skills
- Familiarity with standard classification systems (e.g. Dewey Decimal System)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Salary: $1700 per month

Location: Ar Rumaythiyah
