Indian Chef
We are seeking a talented and experienced Indian Chef to join our team. As an Indian Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking traditional Indian dishes, managing kitchen operations, and training junior chefs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Indian cuisine, excellent cooking skills, and the ability to create new and innovative dishes.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of traditional Indian dishes
- Manage kitchen operations including inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining hygiene standards
- Train and supervise junior chefs in preparation methods and techniques
- Create new and innovative dishes while maintaining the authenticity of traditional Indian cuisine
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to established recipes and quality standards
- Monitor food production to maintain consistency in taste, quality, and presentation
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to plan menus and develop new recipes
Requirements:
- Previous experience as an Indian Chef or in a similar role
- In-depth knowledge of Indian cuisine, spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques
- Ability to create new and innovative dishes while maintaining the authenticity of traditional Indian cuisine
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and supervise junior chefs
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail with a focus on food quality and presentation
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Education/Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as an Indian Chef or in a similar role
- Food safety certification preferred
Salary: $1500 per month (negotiable based on experience)
