Contract Librarian in Moscow, Russia

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Contract Librarian to join our team at a prestigious library located in Moscow, Russia. As the Contract Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection, providing reference services to patrons, and overseeing day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the library's collection of books, journals, and other materials
- Catalogue new acquisitions and ensure accurate record keeping using library software
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for the organization of materials
- Provide reference services to patrons by assisting with research inquiries and locating resources
- Oversee the circulation of materials, including issuing library cards and keeping track of overdue items
- Train and supervise library assistants and volunteers
- Collaborate with other departments within the organization to coordinate events or programs related to the library
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in information management

Requirements:
- Master's degree in Library Science or a related field from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 3 years experience working in a library setting
- Knowledge of cataloguing standards such as MARC21 or AACR2 is required
- Familiarity with library software systems such as Koha or LibraryWorld
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work well with diverse groups of people
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Russian is preferred

This is a contract position with a salary of $1400 per month. Accommodation will be provided by the employer. The successful candidate will also receive a free visa and ticket to Moscow.
