Skilled Mason

As a skilled mason, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures made of brick, concrete blocks, stone, or other similar materials. Your duties will include laying out patterns and foundations for buildings, using hand and power tools to cut and shape materials, and following blueprints or other specifications to ensure accuracy. You must have a good understanding of construction principles and safety procedures to ensure quality work is completed in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare construction sites by cleaning and setting up necessary materials
- Lay out patterns for walls, floors, and other structures using measuring tools
- Mix mortar or other adhesives to hold building materials together
- Cut or shape bricks, stones, or other materials to fit specific dimensions using hand or power tools
- Follow blueprints or other specifications to ensure accurate construction
- Repair or replace damaged bricks or stones as needed
- Install insulation or moisture barriers as required by building codes
- Ensure that all work meets safety standards and regulations
- Communicate with supervisors and clients regarding project progress

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a mason in the construction industry
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other technical documents
- Proficient in using hand and power tools for cutting, shaping, and smoothing materials
- Strong knowledge of construction principles and safety procedures
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects
- Good communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- High school diploma/GED preferred
