Contract Librarian in Al Buraymi, Oman


We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Librarian to join our team in Al Buraymi, Oman on a contract basis. As a Contract Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library and providing information services to our patrons. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently and has a passion for books and research.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the library, including cataloging, shelving, and maintaining records of borrowed materials
- Assist patrons with locating and accessing materials, providing reference services, and promoting library resources
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations to promote library services
- Plan and implement programs and events to engage the community and promote literacy
- Stay updated on current trends in library science and technology to improve library services
- Collaborate with other librarians to develop collection strategies and policies

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a librarian
- Experience with cataloging systems such as Dewey Decimal Classification or Library of Congress Classification
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse groups of people
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Fluency in English (Arabic proficiency is a plus)
- Must have visa sponsorship or be eligible for a work visa in Oman

Salary:
The salary for this position is 1600$ per month.

Location:
This position is based in Al Buraymi, Oman.

Contract Duration:
This is a contract position with an initial duration of 1 year. Renewal may be possible depending on performance.
