Head Pastry Chef



We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Head Pastry Chef to join our team in Nairobi, Kenya. As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our pastry department and managing a team of pastry chefs.

Responsibilities:
- Develop new and innovative pastry recipes while also maintaining traditional favorites
- Create and maintain menu offerings for all bakery items, including cakes, pastries, breads, and desserts
- Train, supervise, and mentor pastry chefs to ensure high-quality products and efficient operations
- Oversee inventory management and ordering of ingredients and supplies
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless execution of events and orders
- Stay current with industry trends and implement new techniques into our pastry program

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a high-volume establishment
- Extensive knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and recipe development
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate a team
- Excellent time-management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Up-to-date with food safety regulations
- Creative mindset with a passion for innovation
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, or holidays as needed

Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Culinary Arts or related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years experience in pastry production
- Knowledge of various baking equipment
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Salary:
Starting salary for this position is $1000 per month. Additional benefits may be provided based on experience level.
