Executive Chef - Mediterranean Cuisine (Ashdod, Israel)
Our 5-star hotel in Ashdod, Israel is seeking an Executive Chef with a passion for Mediterranean cuisine to lead our culinary team. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for creating and executing menus that showcase the flavors and ingredients of the Mediterranean region.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain menu offerings that reflect the Mediterranean cuisine, incorporating local and seasonal ingredients.
- Train and mentor our team of talented chefs, ensuring consistency and excellence in all dishes.
- Oversee food preparation and presentation, ensuring quality and timely service.
- Maintain proper inventory levels and purchasing to meet budgetary guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments to plan and execute special events, as well as catering services.
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new ideas into menu offerings.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high-end restaurant or hotel setting.
- In-depth knowledge of Mediterranean cuisine, including traditional techniques and modern interpretations.
- Creativity in developing new dishes while staying true to the authentic flavors of the region.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing a team of chefs.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively train staff and collaborate with other departments.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
- Knowledge of food cost control measures and inventory management.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Culinary Arts or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years experience as an Executive Chef or similar role with expertise in Mediterranean cuisine.
- Fluent in English (Hebrew is a plus).
Salary: $1600/month
