We are currently hiring a passionate and dedicated English Teacher for a contract position in Nairobi, Kenya. As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a positive and engaging learning environment for students to develop their language skills.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality English lessons to students of varying ages and proficiency levels
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and materials to keep students engaged and motivated
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents/guardians
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum materials, lesson plans, and assessment tools
- Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported
- Attend staff meetings, professional development workshops, and parent-teacher conferences as required
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
- Teaching certification or qualification in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching English language learners in a classroom setting
- Strong knowledge of current teaching methods, techniques, and strategies for language acquisition
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively work with students from diverse backgrounds
- Passionate about teaching and committed to providing quality education to students
- Ability to adapt to different learning styles and individual needs of students
