Job Title: Librarian - Khasab Public Library


We are seeking a highly organized and knowledgeable Librarian to join our team at the Khasab Public Library in Oman. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's resources, providing research assistance, and promoting library services to the community.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a collection of books, journals, and digital resources that meet the needs of library users
- Catalog and classify materials using standard library systems
- Assist patrons with locating materials and provide research assistance
- Plan and conduct educational programs such as workshops and book clubs
- Promote library services through social media, newsletters, and other communication channels
- Train staff on library procedures and policies
- Collaborate with other librarians to enhance library services
- Maintain accurate records of library transactions, such as loans and returns

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Previous experience working in a library setting preferred
- Knowledge of standard cataloging systems such as MARC or Dewey Decimal Classification
- Familiarity with digital resources and information literacy skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Fluency in English is required, Arabic language skills are a plus
- Must have a valid biometric passport
