Part-Time Librarian
Location: Khasab, Oman
We are in search of a dedicated and knowledgeable Part-Time Librarian to join our team in Khasab, Oman. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the library, including cataloguing and organizing materials, assisting patrons with research and reference inquiries, and maintaining the library's collection.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Previous experience working in a library setting preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must have a valid visa for employment in Oman
Responsibilities:
- Manage circulation activities, including checking materials in and out, collecting fines, and updating patron records
- Catalogue new materials into the library's system using appropriate classification systems
- Organize shelves and maintain the overall appearance of the library space
- Assist patrons with research inquiries and provide reference services using various resources such as databases, books, and online sources
- Plan and execute library programs such as book clubs, storytime sessions, or workshops
- Collaborate with other librarians to develop new collections or services based on patron needs or interests
- Stay up-to-date with current trends in literature and technology to provide relevant resources to patrons
Working Hours:
This is a part-time position with flexible hours. The selected candidate will be required to work approximately 20 hours per week.
Salary:
The salary for this position is 1200$ per month.
