Librarian


We are seeking a knowledgeable and organized Librarian to join our team in Ar-Ruwais. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library collection, providing reference and research assistance to patrons, and promoting the use of library resources. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Library Science or a related field and experience working in a library setting. Fluency in English is required for this position.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the library collection and ensure materials are cataloged and shelved correctly
- Assist patrons with reference and research inquiries, including locating materials and providing guidance on using library resources
- Develop and conduct educational programs to promote the use of the library's resources
- Organize and maintain the library's physical space, including arranging displays and keeping shelves tidy
- Stay up-to-date on new developments in library science and incorporate best practices into daily operations
- Train and supervise library assistants or other staff members as needed
- Collaborate with faculty to develop instructional materials that incorporate library resources
- Participate in collection development by selecting new materials for acquisition based on patron needs and interests

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Information Science or a related field
- Previous experience working in a library setting preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact with diverse groups of people
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
- Knowledge of cataloging rules, classification systems, and other standard practices used in libraries
- Familiarity with electronic databases, search engines, and other reference tools
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities or needs
