Interpreter (Vianden, Luxembourg)


We are currently hiring a skilled Interpreter to join our team in Vianden, Luxembourg. As an Interpreter, you will be responsible for facilitating communication between individuals who speak different languages. Your main duties will include interpreting spoken language in both consecutive and simultaneous modes, translating written documents accurately and efficiently, and maintaining confidentiality and impartiality at all times.

Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language in both consecutive and simultaneous modes
- Translate written documents accurately and efficiently
- Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times
- Conduct research to ensure accurate understanding of terminology in both languages
- Relay tone and emotions accurately between parties
- Facilitate effective communication between individuals who speak different languages
- Act as a cultural mediator to bridge any cultural or linguistic gaps
- Attend meetings, conferences, and events as needed to provide interpretation services
- Adhere to the code of ethics for interpreters

Requirements:
- Fluency in at least two languages, including English (fluency in French is preferred)
- Proven experience as an interpreter or similar role is preferred but not required
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to convey tone and emotions accurately
- Strong writing skills with the ability to translate written documents accurately and efficiently
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times
- Knowledge of cultural differences and sensitivity towards different cultures
- Strong research skills
- Ability to work flexible hours based on the needs of clients
- Biometric passport or work permit for Luxembourg is required

Salary: 1400$ per month

This is a contract position with accommodation provided. We welcome students who are looking for part-time work opportunities.
