Carpenter

We are a carpentry company based in Nairobi and we are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for carpentry and a desire to learn and grow in the field.

Responsibilities:
- Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully understand project requirements
- Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using rulers, squares, or marking gauges
- Cut materials to the appropriate size using hand tools or power saws
- Assemble structures by joining parts together with nails, screws, or adhesives
- Install structures and fixtures such as windows, frames, floorings, trimmings, etc.
- Repair damaged structures or fixtures by replacing broken parts or fixing defects
- Use various hand and power tools to shape wood into desired forms
- Follow safety procedures at all times to ensure a safe working environment

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Carpenter or similar role
- Ability to read blueprints and follow technical specifications
- Familiarity with woodworking machines (e.g. table saws) is preferred but not required
- Good understanding of different carpentry techniques and methods
- Physical stamina to handle long hours of standing and lifting heavy materials
- Attention to detail with excellent hand-eye coordination
- Good communication skills

Salary:
The salary for this position is 1400$ per month.

We are open to offering visa sponsorship for qualified candidates who do not have prior work experience.

Location:
This job is located in Nairobi. However, we are open to considering candidates from other cities in Kenya.
