Junior Accountant


We are searching for a detail-oriented and driven Junior Accountant to join our team in Nairobi. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently. This is a contract position with a salary of 1700$ per month and includes accommodation. Preference will be given to candidates with a biometric passport and freshers are welcome to apply.

As a Junior Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks such as preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and reconciling bank statements. You will also be expected to maintain accurate records of financial transactions and assist with budgeting and forecasting.

To excel in this role, you must have excellent attention to detail and the ability to analyze complex data. You should also have strong communication skills as you will be working closely with other members of the accounting team. Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial documents such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
- Reconcile bank statements on a monthly basis
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations
- Collaborate with other members of the accounting team on various projects
- Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders
- Utilize accounting software to enter financial data accurately

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software (QuickBooks or Sage)
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
