Livestock Specialist


We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Livestock Specialist to join our team in Abu Dhabi. As a Livestock Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the care and management of livestock on our farm. This position requires extensive knowledge and practical experience in the husbandry, nutrition, and health of various types of livestock.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and implement daily husbandry activities for all livestock on the farm
- Monitor and maintain proper feeding, housing, and healthcare protocols for all animals
- Perform routine health checks and administer necessary treatments or medications as needed
- Maintain accurate records of livestock inventory, births, deaths, and production data
- Train and supervise farm staff on proper handling and care of livestock
- Collaborate with veterinarians to develop preventative health programs for herd/flock management
- Ensure compliance with animal welfare regulations and practices
- Monitor feed quality and make necessary adjustments to optimize animal nutrition
- Identify potential risks or issues within the herd/flock and take appropriate action to mitigate them
- Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in animal husbandry techniques, and new regulations related to livestock management

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing large herds/flocks on a commercial farm
- Extensive knowledge of animal husbandry techniques, breeding principles, nutrition requirements, disease prevention/control
- Ability to handle large animals safely
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train/supervise farm staff
- Excellent record keeping abilities
- Knowledge of local animal welfare regulations
- Ability to work long hours as needed

Salary: $1600/month

Location: Abu Dhabi
