We are in search of a dedicated and knowledgeable Librarian to join our team in Manama on a part-time basis. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection, assisting patrons with research and information requests, and organizing library programs and events. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as a passion for literature and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the library's collection by selecting, cataloging, and classifying materials
- Assist patrons with research and information requests
- Organize library programs and events, such as book clubs or author talks
- Maintain the library's physical space by shelving books, keeping shelves organized, and ensuring a clean environment
- Handle administrative tasks such as budgeting, purchasing materials, and maintaining records
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new technologies to enhance library services
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of library management systems is preferred
- Passion for literature and promoting reading culture
Working Hours:
This is a part-time position with approximately 20 hours per week. Schedule may include evenings and weekends.
Compensation:
Salary for this position is $900 per month.

The position is based in Manama, Bahrain.
