Experienced Barista (Nairobi, Kenya)


We are in search of an experienced Barista to join our team in Nairobi, Kenya. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold beverages, along with light snacks and pastries. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee and customer service, along with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages according to customer preferences
- Ensure the quality and consistency of all drinks served
- Operate coffee making equipment such as espresso machines, grinders, and drip coffee makers
- Keep work area clean and organized at all times
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
- Provide friendly and attentive customer service
- Educate customers on different coffee blends, brewing methods, and food pairings
- Maintain inventory levels of supplies and ingredients
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times

Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a Barista in a high-volume coffee shop or café setting
- Excellent knowledge of coffee types, brewing methods, and latte art techniques
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for customers
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English (additional languages are an asset)
- Must have basic math skills for cash handling purposes
- High school diploma or equivalent required

Salary:
The salary for this position is $1200 per month.

This is a full-time position without accommodation. Candidates must have their own visa or be eligible to work in Kenya.
