African Cuisine Chef
We are seeking an experienced and skilled African Cuisine Chef to join our restaurant in Hawalli. The ideal candidate should have a passion for African cuisine and be knowledgeable in various cooking techniques and ingredients used in traditional African dishes. As an African Cuisine Chef, you will be responsible for creating unique and authentic dishes that reflect the diverse flavors of Africa. Your creativity, attention to detail, and ability to work well under pressure will be essential in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Design menus and create new dishes that showcase the flavors of African cuisine
- Ensure all food is prepared according to recipes and presented in an appealing manner
- Train kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques for African dishes
- Maintain inventory of ingredients and supplies needed for African cuisine
- Monitor food quality and consistency to meet standards set by the restaurant
- Collaborate with management to develop seasonal menus and specials featuring African dishes
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an African Cuisine Chef or similar role
- Knowledge of traditional African cooking techniques, ingredients, and spices
- Ability to create unique and authentic dishes while maintaining high-quality standards
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong leadership abilities
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a chef specializing in African cuisine
- Food Handlers certification
- Fluent in English (knowledge of Arabic or other languages is a plus)
Salary:
$1400/month (negotiable based on experience)
