Residential Painter


A residential painter is a skilled professional who is responsible for applying paint and other finishes to the interior and exterior surfaces of homes. They work closely with homeowners and contractors to ensure high-quality results and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, sanding, and filling holes and cracks
- Select and mix paint colors according to specifications
- Apply paint or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
- Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape to protect them from paint
- Repair any damaged areas prior to painting
- Ensure proper ventilation during painting process
- Evaluate customer requests and provide design recommendations if necessary
- Keep work area clean and organized
- Adhere to safety standards at all times

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a residential painter or similar role
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Excellent color vision and knowledge of color theory
- Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of different types of paints, stains, varnishes, and finishes
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with clients in a professional manner

Education/Training:
A high school diploma or GED is typically required for this position. Some employers may prefer candidates with vocational training in painting techniques or an apprenticeship program.

Salary/Benefits:
