Senior Architect
As a Senior Architect, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and construction of buildings and structures. You will collaborate with clients, engineers, and other architects to develop functional and aesthetically pleasing designs that meet the needs of the client and comply with building codes and regulations. Your role will involve leading project teams, managing budgets, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. You must have a strong understanding of architectural principles, materials, and construction methods to be successful in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their design needs and goals
- Develop design concepts and present them to clients for approval
- Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for construction projects
- Supervise project teams and provide guidance throughout the design process
- Ensure that all designs comply with building codes, zoning laws, and other regulations
- Monitor project timelines and budgets to ensure timely completion
- Review construction plans to identify potential issues or conflicts
- Oversee construction progress to ensure adherence to design plans
- Conduct site visits during construction to ensure quality control
- Communicate with contractors, engineers, and other team members to address any issues that arise during construction
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited university
- Minimum 5 years of experience in architectural design or a related field
- Strong knowledge of architectural principles, materials, and construction methods
- Experience managing project teams and budgets
- Proficient in AutoCAD or other architectural software programs
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients and team members from diverse backgrounds
Preferred Skills:
- Professional registration as an architect (e.g. AIA)
- Experience working on commercial or institutional projects
- Familiarity with green building practices
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience using Building Information Modeling (BIM) software
Salary: $1300 per month (negotiable based on experience)
