Barista - Coffee Shop in Washington


We are seeking a skilled and energetic Barista to join our team at a busy coffee shop in the heart of Washington. As a Barista, you will be responsible for creating delicious and high-quality coffee beverages while providing excellent customer service. This is a contract job with a starting salary of $1400 per month, without accommodation provided. This position is ideal for students or individuals with experience in the food and beverage industry.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, including lattes, cappuccinos, and espressos
- Ensure quality control by properly measuring and grinding coffee beans
- Provide exceptional customer service by taking orders, answering questions, and handling complaints
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including restocking supplies and cleaning equipment
- Promote menu items and make recommendations to customers based on their preferences
- Operate cash register and handle financial transactions accurately
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times

Requirements:
- Previous experience as a barista or in the food and beverage industry preferred
- Knowledge of coffee brewing methods and latte art techniques is an asset
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
