Preservation Architect - Los Angeles, USA
A leading architectural firm in Los Angeles is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Preservation Architect to join our team. Our company specializes in the preservation and restoration of historic buildings and structures, and we are looking for a talented individual who shares our passion for preserving the past while creating functional and sustainable spaces for the present.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research on historical buildings and structures to determine their significance and preservation needs
- Develop plans for restoration, renovation, or adaptive reuse of historic properties while adhering to local building codes and regulations
- Collaborate with clients, engineers, contractors, and other professionals to ensure successful completion of preservation projects
- Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for preservation projects
- Monitor construction progress and provide guidance to ensure adherence to design plans
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess the condition of historical structures
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture with a focus on historic preservation
- Minimum of 5 years experience in historic preservation projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or other design software
- Strong understanding of building materials, construction techniques, and historic preservation standards
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
