Contract Metal Worker in Akron, Ohio

We are searching for a skilled and experienced Metal Worker to join our team on a contract basis in Akron, Ohio. As a Metal Worker, you will be responsible for fabricating and repairing metal parts and structures according to specifications. This is a hands-on role that requires physical strength, attention to detail, and the ability to work with various tools and equipment.

Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine job requirements
- Cut, shape, bend, and weld metal pieces using hand tools and machines such as saws, grinders, drills, and welding equipment
- Repair or replace damaged or faulty metal parts using appropriate techniques
- Measure and mark dimensions on workpieces to ensure accuracy
- Operate overhead cranes or forklifts to move heavy materials
- Complete tasks within given deadlines while maintaining quality standards

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Metal Worker or similar role in a manufacturing or construction environment
- Skilled in working with various types of metals including steel, aluminum, copper, etc.
- Knowledge of different welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, stick welding
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately
- Physical stamina to stand for long hours and lift heavy objects
- Attention to detail with strong manual dexterity

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in metalworking is preferred
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Must have own basic hand tools; specialized tools will be provided by the company

Salary: $1500 per week (based on 40 hours/week)
