Executive Chef - Bungoma, Kenya
We are in search of a talented and creative Executive Chef to join our team in Bungoma. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen and ensuring the highest quality of food is served to our customers. This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership, organization, and culinary skills.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain menus that reflect our restaurant's concept and meet customer expectations
- Manage inventory levels and ordering to ensure freshness and minimize waste
- Train, supervise, and schedule kitchen staff to maintain high levels of productivity and efficiency
- Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure consistency and meet established standards
- Oversee food preparation processes to maintain safety and sanitation standards
- Collaborate with other departments such as front-of-house staff to ensure a smooth operation
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques into menu offerings
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant setting
- Culinary degree or equivalent training preferred
- Strong knowledge of local ingredients, cooking techniques, and international cuisines
- Ability to create unique dishes while also maintaining traditional favorites on the menu
- Experience with inventory management, cost control, and budgeting
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team
- Strong communication skills to effectively work with front-of-house staff
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Salary: $1500/month (without accommodation)
