Sous Chef
We are in search of a talented and creative Sous Chef to join our team in Bungoma, Kenya. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in managing the kitchen and ensuring high-quality food production. You will have a passion for cooking and be able to lead and motivate a team of chefs to deliver exceptional dishes.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, costing, and ordering of ingredients
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality
- Train and develop junior chefs on proper cooking techniques and safety standards
- Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition
- Monitor portion control, waste management, and inventory levels
- Collaborate with the front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery
- Comply with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or related field
- Certification from a recognized culinary institution is an added advantage
- Experience working in high-end restaurants or hotels is preferred
Salary:
