Chef de Cuisine
A renowned restaurant in the vibrant city of Bungoma is seeking a talented and experienced Chef de Cuisine to lead our kitchen team. As the Chef de Cuisine, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and staff management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and design creative menus that reflect current food trends and meet the needs of our diverse clientele
- Supervise and train kitchen staff in proper food handling techniques and sanitation guidelines
- Ensure that all food is prepared to the highest quality standards and delivered in a timely manner
- Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed to meet daily demands
- Collaborate with restaurant management to develop cost-effective menu items while maintaining high-quality standards
- Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Chef de Cuisine or Executive Chef in a high-volume restaurant setting
- Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and equipment
- Ability to create innovative dishes while also managing costs effectively
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Understanding of health codes, food safety guidelines, and kitchen best practices
