Head Chef - Bungoma, Kenya
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Head Chef to join our team in Bungoma, Kenya. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our kitchen operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality and delicious meals to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute menus that cater to different tastes and dietary requirements
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, including line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers
- Ensure that all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality standards
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Follow safety and sanitation procedures at all times
- Collaborate with management to create new menu items that reflect seasonal ingredients or customer preferences
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a busy restaurant setting
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train staff effectively
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and proper cooking techniques
- Creative mindset with a passion for experimenting with flavors and ingredients
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Education:
A degree or diploma in Culinary Arts or relevant field is preferred. However, candidates with extensive hands-on experience will also be considered.
Salary:
We are offering a competitive salary of $1000 per month for this position.
