Mason: Bungoma, Kenya


The Mason will be responsible for constructing and repairing structures using various types of materials such as brick, concrete, and stone. This individual will work closely with the construction team to ensure that projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner. The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to follow blueprints and building plans.

Responsibilities:
- Lay out patterns or foundations according to blueprints
- Break or cut bricks, stones, or blocks to necessary sizes
- Mix mortar or grout and spread it onto surfaces
- Remove excess mortar with trowels or other tools
- Align structures using levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges
- Repair cracks or other damage in existing structures
- Ensure that all safety protocols are followed on job sites

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in masonry is a plus but not required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically fit with the ability to lift heavy materials
- Familiarity with hand tools such as trowels, chisels, and hammers
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Willingness to learn new techniques and methods

Salary:
This is a full-time position offering a salary of $1800 per month.

Location:
This position is based in Bungoma, Kenya. Preference will be given to candidates who are already residing in Bungoma or willing to relocate.
