Head Chef - Nakuru, Kenya
We are in search of a skilled and experienced Head Chef to join our team at a high-end restaurant in Nakuru, Kenya. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen and ensuring the delivery of exceptional culinary experiences to our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and create innovative menus that cater to a diverse range of tastes and dietary restrictions
- Manage inventory and food cost to ensure profitability while maintaining high quality standards
- Train, supervise, and mentor kitchen staff to maintain a cohesive and efficient team
- Oversee food preparation, presentation, and plating to meet our high standards for taste and aesthetic appeal
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen at all times
- Collaborate with vendors to source the freshest ingredients and maintain strong relationships with local suppliers
- Stay updated on industry trends, new techniques, and ingredients to continuously improve our menu offerings
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar role in a fine dining restaurant setting
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to delegate tasks effectively
- Strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Creativity and passion for creating memorable culinary experiences for guests
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or related field is preferred
Salary:
We offer a competitive salary of 1600$ per month plus benefits.
