Pastry Chef - Nakuru, Kenya


We are seeking a skilled and creative Pastry Chef to join our team in Nakuru, Kenya. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious and visually appealing pastries and desserts for our customers. You will also be responsible for managing the pastry section of our kitchen, training and supervising staff, and ensuring quality control.

Key Responsibilities:
- Create a wide variety of pastries and desserts, including cakes, tarts, cookies, and other confections
- Develop new recipes that meet our customers' tastes and dietary needs
- Ensure all pastries are made with high-quality ingredients and presented attractively
- Manage inventory of pastry supplies and order ingredients as needed
- Train new pastry chefs on techniques and recipes
- Supervise pastry assistants to ensure efficiency in the kitchen
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry section at all times
- Monitor food costs to maintain profitability
- Collaborate with other chefs to plan menus for special events or holidays

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience in a reputable culinary institution
- Knowledge of different baking techniques, measurements, ingredients, equipment, and safety procedures
- Creativity and attention to detail to produce visually appealing pastries
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate others
- Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines for orders

Salary:
Starting salary for this position is $1600 per month. Salary may be negotiable based on experience.

Location:
This position is located in Nakuru, Kenya. Preference will be given to candidates who are already residing in or willing to relocate to Nakuru.
