Part-Time Librarian in Mombasa, Kenya

A prestigious library in Mombasa, Kenya is seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Part-Time Librarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for literature and a commitment to providing excellent customer service to our patrons. This role will require working on weekends and evenings, with the option for additional hours during peak periods.

Responsibilities:
- Assist patrons with locating and checking out materials, as well as answering reference questions
- Maintain library collections by shelving books, organizing materials, and updating records
- Plan and implement engaging programs and events for all ages
- Collaborate with other library staff to develop new services and improve existing ones
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate new technologies into daily tasks

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Previous experience working in a library or customer service environment is preferred
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with diverse groups of people
- Knowledge of current library practices, including cataloging and circulation systems
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Salary: $1700/month (pro-rated based on hours worked)
