Head Chef in Mombasa, Kenya
As a leading hotel in Mombasa, we are seeking an experienced Head Chef to manage our kitchen and lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating delicious and visually appealing dishes, as well as strong leadership skills. This is a full-time position with a salary of 1700$ per month.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Develop menus and recipes that showcase local flavors and ingredients
- Train and supervise kitchen staff to ensure high-quality and efficient service
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen at all times
- Collaborate with other departments to plan special events or promotions
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques or dishes into the menu
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar role in a high-volume establishment
- Knowledge of local cuisine and ingredients preferred
- Ability to create innovative dishes while also adhering to budget constraints
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train staff effectively
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or related field is an advantage
