Executive Chef
We are seeking a talented and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at a luxury resort in Mombasa, Kenya. As the head of the culinary department, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation and presentation, ensuring high quality and consistency in our dining experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Create and design innovative menus that cater to various dietary preferences and restrictions
- Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of all menu items
- Train and manage kitchen staff, including scheduling and performance evaluations
- Order and maintain inventory of food supplies while controlling costs
- Ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, and hygiene standards in the kitchen
- Collaborate with other departments to plan special events or menus
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a luxury hotel or resort setting
- Extensive knowledge of different cuisines, cooking techniques, and menu planning
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train a diverse team
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks within tight deadlines
- Familiarity with food safety regulations
- Degree or certification in Culinary Arts is preferred
Salary: $1500 per month
Location: Mombasa, Kenya (Preference for Kenyan nationals or those legally able to work in Kenya)
