Head Pastry Chef
As a Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the creation, production, and presentation of all pastries and desserts in our high-end bakery in Mombasa. Your main goal will be to ensure that all pastry items are of the highest quality and meet our customers' expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a team of pastry chefs and bakers, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Develop new recipes, techniques, and menu items to keep our bakery fresh and innovative.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed to maintain stock levels.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, following all established food safety protocols.
- Collaborate with other departments such as the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service and customer satisfaction.
- Train new staff members on pastry techniques, recipes, and company policies.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-volume bakery or restaurant environment.
- Proven track record of creating innovative pastry items that are both visually appealing and delicious.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Extensive knowledge of various pastry techniques, including baking, decorating, shaping, etc.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Proficient in budgeting, inventory management, scheduling, and other administrative tasks.
Salary: $1600 USD per month
