Head Chef
As the Head Chef at our five-star restaurant in Malindi, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our kitchen operations. Your main goal will be to ensure that every dish leaving the kitchen is of the highest quality and meets our standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and update menus that showcase our restaurantās unique style and appeal to our diverse clientele
- Manage and train a team of sous chefs, line cooks, and other kitchen staff to maintain consistency and efficiency in food preparation
- Oversee inventory and ordering of ingredients to ensure freshness and cost-effectiveness
- Monitor food quality and presentation, making adjustments as needed to meet customer expectations
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations in the kitchen, including proper food handling techniques and sanitation practices
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen at all times
Requirements:
- At least 5 years experience as a chef, with 2 years in a leadership role preferred
- Culinary degree or equivalent training from a reputable institution
- Strong knowledge of different cooking techniques and cuisine styles
- Ability to create innovative dishes while also maintaining classic favorites on the menu
- Excellent communication skills to effectively manage a team in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
Salary:
We offer a competitive salary of $900 per month, with potential for bonuses based on performance.
