Head Pastry Chef at a Luxury Resort in Malindi
As a Head Pastry Chef at our luxury resort in Malindi, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the pastry department. You will use your expertise and creativity to design and execute unique and delicious pastries, desserts, and baked goods that will delight our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create new and innovative pastry recipes while also maintaining the classics
- Manage inventory of pastry supplies and ensure proper ordering and storage
- Train, supervise, and mentor pastry team members on proper techniques and recipes
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of pastries for events, restaurants, and room service orders
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, techniques, and ingredients to continually improve our pastry offerings
- Adhere to food safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a luxury establishment
- Extensive knowledge of various pastry techniques including decorating, molding, baking, etc.
- Creativity and passion for creating delicious desserts that are visually appealing
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and manage a team effectively
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices to maintain a safe working environment
- A degree or certification in Culinary Arts or relevant field is preferred
Salary: $1200/month (negotiable based on experience)
Location: Malindi, Kenya (open to all nationalities)
