Typesetter

As a Typesetter, you will be responsible for transforming raw text and images into visually appealing and readable documents. Your main duties will include selecting appropriate fonts, arranging text and images on a page, and ensuring consistency in style and formatting. You will work closely with editors, designers, and clients to ensure the final product meets their specifications. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:
- Reviewing raw text and images to determine the most suitable layout
- Selecting appropriate fonts and adjusting font size, spacing, and alignment
- Arranging text and images on a page to ensure readability and visual appeal
- Ensuring consistency in style, formatting, and design throughout the document
- Collaborating with editors, designers, and clients to meet project requirements
- Making necessary revisions based on feedback from team members or clients
- Maintaining accuracy in spelling, grammar, punctuation, and other language rules
- Following established company standards for typesetting procedures

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in graphic design or typesetting is preferred
- Knowledge of typography principles and design elements such as font selection and layout composition
- Proficiency in typesetting software such as Adobe InDesign or QuarkXPress
- Strong attention to detail with excellent spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and clients
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy in work
- Basic understanding of document production process including prepress preparation

Salary: $1300 per month

Location: Clairvaux (option for remote work)
