Cashier at a Retail Store in Dubai

Our retail store in Dubai is seeking a skilled and customer-oriented Cashier to join our team. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing excellent service to our customers while processing their purchases accurately and efficiently. Your main duties will include scanning items, handling payments, and issuing receipts. You will also be responsible for balancing the cash register at the end of your shift and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.

To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience as a Cashier or in a similar customer service position. Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor are also essential. Attention to detail and basic math skills are important for accurately processing transactions.

Responsibilities:
- Greet customers as they enter the store
- Scan items and process payments using various forms of tender (cash, credit/debit cards, vouchers)
- Issue receipts to customers
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional manner
- Maintain knowledge of current promotions, policies, and procedures
- Ensure all items are correctly priced and scanned
- Balance cash register at the end of your shift
- Keep checkout area clean and organized
- Assist with stocking shelves when needed

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Previous experience as a Cashier or in a similar customer service role
- Basic math skills with the ability to handle cash transactions accurately
- Excellent communication skills
- Friendly demeanor with strong customer service skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of retail POS systems is an asset
