Assistant Librarian
The Assistant Librarian will assist the head librarian in managing the library's resources and services. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent organizational and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a passion for books and knowledge, as well as experience working in a library setting. This is a part-time position with a salary of $900 per month, located in Beer-Sheva.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in cataloging and organizing library materials
- Help patrons with locating and checking out materials
- Answer reference questions and provide assistance to library users
- Maintain the library's physical space, including shelving and cleaning
- Prepare displays and promotional materials for events and new additions to the collection
- Participate in collection development by recommending new purchases
- Collaborate with other library staff on projects and events
- Stay updated on current trends in librarianship, including technology and information literacy
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a library or related field preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with others
- Passion for books, learning, and helping others access information
- Familiarity with cataloging systems and library software is a plus
