Temporary Executive Chef
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team on a temporary basis in Nairobi. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong culinary background to showcase their skills and creativity while gaining experience in a new environment. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen, from menu planning to food preparation and presentation.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and plan menus that reflect the local culture and ingredients
- Oversee food preparation and ensure high quality standards are met
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to proper food handling and safety guidelines
- Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Create new dishes and recipes to keep the menu fresh and exciting
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction
- Adhere to budgetary guidelines set by management
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and equipment
- Ability to create unique dishes while also adhering to dietary restrictions or preferences
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
- Good understanding of food safety regulations
- Availability for temporary work in Nairobi
- Accommodation available (optional)
- Must have own visa or ability to obtain one
Salary:
The salary for this temporary position is $1100 per month. Accommodation may be provided if needed.
