Sous Chef
A reputable restaurant in Nizwa is seeking a skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes. As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in managing the kitchen, creating menus, and ensuring the quality of food preparation.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in menu development and creating new dishes
- Oversee the kitchen operations and ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met
- Train and supervise kitchen staff on cooking techniques, recipes, and safety procedures
- Maintain inventory levels of food supplies and equipment
- Collaborate with management to create cost-effective menus while maintaining high-quality standards
- Ensure timely preparation of food items according to menu specifications
- Monitor food presentation and portion control to maintain consistency
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen at all times
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a fine dining restaurant
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
- Ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards
- Excellent knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate kitchen staff
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Salary: 1100$ per month (negotiable based on experience)
