Preservation Architect
A prestigious architectural firm in Washington is seeking a Preservation Architect to join our team. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historic buildings and structures. You will work closely with clients, contractors, and other professionals to ensure that preservation projects are completed successfully.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed assessments of historic buildings and structures
- Develop preservation plans and proposals
- Oversee restoration projects and ensure compliance with historic preservation guidelines
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, engineers, and other professionals to ensure project success
- Provide expertise on materials, techniques, and processes used in historic preservation
- Conduct research on historical buildings and structures as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in architecture or related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience in historic preservation
- Strong understanding of historical architecture styles and techniques
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal historic preservation guidelines
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
