Head Pastry Chef
As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the pastry department in our high-end restaurant in Las Vegas. Your main goal will be to create and execute unique and creative dessert offerings that will delight our guests and keep them coming back for more. You will work closely with the executive chef to develop menus, manage inventory and budgets, and train and supervise a team of pastry chefs. Attention to detail, strong leadership skills, and a passion for creating beautiful and delicious desserts are essential for success in this role.
Your main duties will include:
- Developing new dessert menu items that reflect seasonal ingredients, current food trends, and the restaurant's overall concept
- Ensuring that all pastries are prepared to the highest quality standards and presented beautifully
- Managing inventory levels and ordering supplies as needed
- Training, supervising, and scheduling pastry staff to ensure a smooth operation of the department
- Maintaining a clean and organized pastry kitchen at all times
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless communication and execution of food orders
- Adhering to food safety regulations at all times
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a pastry chef in a high-end restaurant or hotel setting
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, tools, and equipment
- Creativity and ability to develop new recipes from scratch while also following existing recipes accurately
- Experience managing budgets, inventory levels, and staff schedules
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with both kitchen staff and front-of-house team members
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Salary: $1000 per week (negotiable based on experience)
City: Las Vegas (open to candidates from other cities/countries)
